The Dukes Head in Armathwaite is a traditional country Inn offering 6 newly refurbished rooms finished to a high standard. The bar and restaurant have also been refurbished retaining its traditional country feel but with the addition of cosy woodburning stoves and state of the art beer cellar.

Situated in the beautiful Eden Valley village of Armathwaite with its stunning views of the Cumbria Pennine fells and the River Eden, the Inn is an ideal place for you to stop for a beer, enjoy dinner or stay the night. For our overnight guests, a hearty Cumbrian breakfast awaits.
We are proud of all things Cumbrian which is shown in our locally sourced food and drinks. The area is very popular with walkers, cyclists, canoeists, golfers, and motorcyclists.

Armathwaite makes an ideal base to explore two UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Lake District National Park and Hadrian's Wall (18/17 miles) as well the historic city of Carlisle (12 miles) and several quaint local market towns including Brampton, Alston, and Penrith. There are several great golf courses in the area to suit golfers of all abilities.

The village has a railway station allowing guests to explore the historic Settle to Carlisle railway providing direct access to places like Carlisle, Settle, Skipton and Leeds.

Visitors to the Duke will experience fantastic home-cooked food and local real ales. Dogs and muddy boots are both welcome.
